Further to our communiqué of 09 March 2021 where we informed you that Mauritius was entering into a period of national confinement for a period of two weeks, the Honourable Prime Minister of Mauritius has announced on the evening of 23 March 2021 that the existing lockdown period will be extended with a first phase of reopening as from Wednesday 31 March 2021. This decision has been taken after a review of the prevailing situation in the country, the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 and the risks associated with terminating the lockdown period on Thursday 25 March 2021. As from 31 March 2021, certain business activities will be allowed to re-open, subject to strict sanitary measures being complied with and individuals attending their place of work being holders of work access permits.
Our Business Continuity Plan remains operational and our employees are working from home, until further notice, in order to service our client needs. We hope that with the national vaccination program currently in progress, we will soon be able to go back to our normality.
If you have any queries relating to your business and for any transactions, please feel free to contact your usual relationship person by email and they shall revert to you with the usual promptitude. We will keep you updated on the situation in Mauritius through regular Communiqués.
