THE FINANCE ACT & THE BUSINESS FACILITATION ACT 2019

Axis Fiduciary Ltd in collaboration with BLC Robert & Associates address some of the important features of the legislative amendments following the National Budget 2019/2020 delivered by the Honourable Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Pravind K. Jugnauth before the Mauritian National Assembly on 16 June 2019. The amendments have been passed in the Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (the “Finance Act”) and The Business Facilitation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (the “Business Facilitation Act”). Both Acts give effect to the measures announced in Budget Speech 2019-2020 “embracing a brighter future together” in line with the Government’s development objectives.

The report highlights significant changes from two sections:

(1) The Finance Act, covering Companies Act, Income Tax Act, MRA Act, Financial Services Act, Banking Act, among others

(2) Business Facilitation Act, covering ICT Act, Immigration Act, Non-Citizens Act, Film Act among others
