The Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development of Mauritius and the United Kingdom’s Infrastructure and Project Authority (IPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding technical assistance in project management and contract administration on the 17 May 2023.
This MoU falls under the Strategic Trade Partnership Agreement which came into force in April 2023 to help boost trade and investment between the two countries across priority sectors such as financial and professional services, infrastructural development, waste management, green economy, education, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and agritech, among others.
Through this partnership, Mauritius will benefit from valuable expertise and knowledge in project management and contract administration. The Strategic Trade Partnership Agreement will provide technical assistance, guidance, and training to enhance the country’s capabilities in these areas. This support is crucial for ensuring the successful implementation of projects and optimizing contract management practices in Mauritius.
The collaboration between the Government of Mauritius and the IPA reflects a commitment to strengthen the country’s project management and contract administration capabilities. This partnership will play a vital role in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of project execution, ensuring transparency and accountability, and ultimately contributing to the overall development of Mauritius.
