According to the second edition of the Chandler Institute of Government (CIG) index, Mauritius is ranked 1st in Africa and is among the top 40 countries worldwide. Mauritius ranked 38th globally, the country has topped the majority of the assessments of the indexes, which focusses on seven pillars notably, leadership & foresight, robust laws & policies, strong institution, financial stewardship, attractive marketplace, global influence & reputation, and helping people rise.
