The World Happiness Report is a landmark survey of global happiness, which is released annually by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

We are delighted to share that Mauritius has been ranked as the happiest country in Africa and the 59th happiest country in the world out of 149 countries, in the World Happiness Report 2023. The report measures the happiness and well-being of people around the world, based on a variety of factors such as social support, life expectancy, and freedom to make life choices. Mauritius’ top ranking in Africa reflects its strong social support network, low levels of corruption, and high life expectancy, among other factors.

This achievement is a testament to the resilience and positive mindset of the people of Mauritius, who have consistently demonstrated their ability to overcome challenges and embrace a culture of happiness and well-being.
