Following our communiqué of this afternoon (https://www.axis.mu/newsroom/important-communique-covid-19-update/) the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Honourable Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, has just announced to the nation that Mauritius will be in total confinement as from 6 am local time tomorrow Friday 20 March 2020 for a period of two weeks. This decision has been taken at a cabinet meeting on Thursday 19 March 2020 to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Mauritius after it was confirmed that Mauritius has recorded 7 cases as at date.
As a result, we have immediately instigated our Business Continuity Plan and our employees will begin to work from home as from tomorrow Friday 20th March 2020. We are doing our utmost best to ensure that we are up and running as from tomorrow morning, but due to the very short notice provided, there may be some unavoidable delays. We trust that you will bear with us.
