Following our communiqué of 18th March 2020 (https://www.axis.mu/newsroom/important-communique-coronavirus-covid-19/) the situation evolved rapidly and through an address to the nation late yesterday night, the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Honourable Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, confirmed that three cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Mauritius. As a result, the Government has imposed a complete travel ban for the next two weeks, whereby no passengers will be allowed access into the Republic of Mauritius. A further communiqué is awaited from the Prime Minister later this evening and we shall disseminate any relevant additional information to you at the earliest.
We have now immediately instigated our Business Continuity Plan and our employees will begin to work from home on a staged basis as from tomorrow Friday 20th March 2020. Should the situation change, and we all must operate from home, we shall advise you accordingly.
We are trying our best to ensure that we maintain our service level offerings, however, kindly be advised that in the event of a lockdown situation in Mauritius, we may not be able to perform certain type of transactions that will require physical dispatch of documents.
If you have any queries or concerns in respect of the above or have any enquiries relating to your business, please feel free to contact your respective relationship person.
We count on your understanding and continuous support throughout this challenging situation. We wish you, your families, and your staff continued health and safety.
