Mauritius continues its steady ascent in the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI), rising to 58th place in the latest GFCI 37 — a 15-place jump from the previous edition.
This marks a total rise of 20 positions since March 2023 (GFCI 33), reflecting consistent progress across successive editions. Ranked 61st in GFCI 35 (2024), Mauritius had already climbed 7 spots since GFCI 34. The sustained upward trend highlights Mauritius’s strengthening reputation as a resilient and competitive international financial centre.
Key highlights include:
• 4th leading financial centre in the region, after Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Casablanca
• Ranked 1st in Africa and 53rd globally in the Fintech ranking, improving by over 20 places
• Recognised as a Global Specialist and among the top 15 centres likely to gain significance in the coming years
