With the aim of providing insight on the risks associated with virtual asset activities in terms of money laundering and the financing of terrorism, the Financial Services Commission issued the AML/CFT Guidance Notes for Virtual Asset Service Providers and Issuers of Initial Token Offerings (the “Guidance Notes”) on 28 February 2022. The Guidance Notes also provides Virtual Asset Service Providers and Issuers of Initial Token Offerings with an understanding of their AML/CFT obligations.
