The Economic Development Board (EDB) of Mauritius has won the first place, as the best investment promotion agency, for the Southern African region during the 12th Annual Investment Meeting (AIM Global 2023), for Outstanding Contribution to Sustainable Development in recognition of its efforts towards promoting sustainable economic growth and attracting foreign investment to the country.

The conference was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), under the theme “The Investment Paradigm Shift: Future Investment opportunities to Foster sustainable Economic Growth, Diversity and Prosperity” on the 8th to 10th of May 2023.

EDB Mauritius has been implementing various initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development, including the promotion of renewable energy, sustainable tourism, and the implementation of sustainable business practices. This award is a testament to EDB Mauritius’ commitment to sustainable development and its dedication to creating a better future for Mauritius and its people.

Moreover, the year 2023 marks a period of rejuvenation for Mauritius, which is reflected by a significant rise in foreign direct investment (FDI) from 14.5 billion to 27 billion. This remarkable growth demonstrates the strength of the private sector and highlights the crucial role played by the EDB in driving the country’s economic progress.
